Latte Brownies
Anything mocha flavored gets my vote. I love chocolate and coffee flavors mixed together. This recipe does that and uses boxed brownie mix…you can’t get any simpler!
This makes about 12 servings.
NOTES If you want a little stronger coffee flavor, I recommend increasing the espresso powder in the batter just a little. Also, I only used 1.5 cups powdered sugar in frosting.
*If you want to watch the video of this being made, this recipe starts at the 13:33 mark.
Ingredients
1 box brownie mix (for 8x8 sized pan) & ingredients mentioned on the back of the box
espresso powder (found in the baking aisle)
chocolate covered espresso beans (optional) or chocolate chips
For Frosting:
1/4 cup softened butter (4 Tbsp)
4 oz. softened cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups sugar (although I used 1.5 cups)
Here’s how to make it
Preheat oven according to brownie box directions.
Prepare brownie batter according to box directions. Once mixed, stir in 1 Tbsp espresso powder.
Spread the batter into baking pan.
Top with 1/4 cup chocolate chips or espresso beans (if desired)
Bake according to box directions.
While brownies bake, beat together butter, cream cheese and vanilla extract.
Beat in powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp espresso powder.
Once brownies have cooled, frost brownies and add additional chocolate chips or espresso beans on top.
