It’s time to rethink the hot dog! This sauce is so delicious and makes a great twist on a traditional, common dish.

This recipe makes about 8-10 servings.

Notes for this recipe - I halved this recipe for our family.

Hot dogs reimagined! You’ve got to try this sauce over your hot dogs!!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs hot dogs

  • 1 stick of butter

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 15 oz ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp mustard

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar


Here’s how to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Melt butter on medium-low heat in a medium saucepan.

  • Once melted, add onions and cook until tender.

  • Add all other ingredients (except the hot dogs) and heat through.

  • Lay hot dogs in a casserole dish and pour sauce over top.

  • Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

  • Serve on hot dog buns and slaw on the side!
