FRENCH FRIED ONION SMOTHERED CHICKEN
Don’t you love it when you have all the ingredients on hand to make a yummy meal and it doesn’t take long to make? That’s how this recipe was developed! I looked through my pantry and fridge and came up with this one.
This recipe makes 3-4 servings and only takes about 10 minutes to prepare for the oven!! Perfect for a busy weeknight.
Notes for this recipe - If you’d prefer, feel free to use pork chops instead of chicken. You could also use flavored cream cheese in place of the sour cream.
*If you want to watch the video of this being made, this recipe starts at the 5:09 mark.
Ingredients
3-4 chicken breasts
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheese (I used 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 cheddar)
Seasonings (I used paprika, Auntie Nono's Everything, onion powder and pepper about a tsp each)
1 cup french fried onions
Here’s how to make it
Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray baking dish with nonstick spray.
Lay chicken in baking dish and season. ( I used paprika and Auntie Nono's here).
Mix sour cream with seasonings (I used onion powder and pepper). Spread sour cream over chicken. Top with cheese and finally fried onions.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes (until chicken is cooked completely thru and is 165 degrees F inside).
