Homemade Pizzas
Let me start with, I’m not a baker. Not in the slightest bit. But somehow, some way, I was able to make homemade pizza dough for our pizza and it turned out great!
This makes 1 pizza.
Notes: I had to add almost a full cup more of the flour and mine didn’t rise as much as I hoped. But just in case yours does the same, don’t stress!! Mine still turned out delicious!
*If you want to watch the video of this being made, it starts at the 0:24 mark!
Ingredients
For the crust
1 cup warm water
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp instant dry yeast
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups of all-purpose flour
For the crust after it’s baked:
1/4 cup olive oil
garlic powder
Italian seasoning
parmesan cheese
For the pizza:
pizza sauce and toppings
mozzarella cheese
Here’s how to make it
I got this recipe from the “highlights” on @kansaswife Instagram page.
Mix pizza crust ingredients together and let it rise for 1 hour. (Make sure your dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and isn’t too sticky)
Warm pizza stone for a bit in the oven while you preheat to 425 degrees F.
Sprinkle cornmeal on your pizza stone. (I also seasoned mine with a little olive oil since mine is new.)
Roll out crust on a flour-coated surface and place on prepared stone.
Add sauce and toppings and cheese. Allow to rise for another 20 minutes.
Bake at 425 for 15-17 minutes.
While it’s baking mix together the other crust ingredients (olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese).
When the pizza comes out of the oven, brush this mixture on the edges of the crust.
Enjoy!
