Old-Fashioned Macaroni and Cheese
My mom has been making this recipe since before I was born. My grandmother also made it this way and it came from a 1954 Betty Crocker cookbook that we still have! It’s so delicious and very different from most mac-n-cheese’s you get today.
This makes about 6 servings.
NOTES I had to bake mine for about 54 minutes.
*If you want to watch the video of this being made, this recipe starts at the 1:45 mark.
Ingredients
4 cups cooked macaroni (8 oz pkg or 2 cups uncooked)
2 Tbsp butter, cut into pieces

1/4 tsp pepper
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups milk
paprika (optional)
buttered bread crumbs (optional)
Here’s how to make it

Combine cooked macaroni, butter, cheese and salt and pepper.
Place in a greased 2 qt baking dish.
Combine eggs and milk; pour over the macaroni.
Sprinkle with paprika or bread crumbs and bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for 40-50 minutes.
