Nana’s Buttermilk Biscuits
Nana Elizabeth was a great cook. But the one thing she taught me that I still make to this day are her buttermilk biscuits.
This makes about 12 servings.

Ingredients
4 cups self-rising flour
1.5 cups buttermilk
3.5 Tbsp Crisco
Here’s how to make it
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
Add wet ingredients to the flour.
Mix with hands.
Put onto a floured counter and roll to about .5 inch thick.
Cut and place on a baking sheet.
Bake at 500 for 10 minutes.
Rub a stick of butter over the tops of the warm biscuits for extra flavor!
